Absolute great hunt. Congratulations. I love when that happens which is very rarely. It's happened to me a couple times, never a buck near that magnitude but, thrilling and great nonetheless. Good luck in the future.

There's nothing that sets you up for failure more than firing a warning shot. More than making a noise to get a deer to go on full alert prior to a shot.

I think Arkansas having a late season is key for Southern Missourians. We have a place on table rock near Ridgedale/Blue Eye on the border and I always see bucks down there still holding in February. May be adding more pressure to your spots cuz this dude about stay at the lake more in late season ;) Great vid, goodluck!!

You guys kicked my butt this year in my home state I let too many walk being picky and it ended up costing me only killed two doe but at it again in the morning

This year I used HECS and Scent Thief products! Went to my Eastern Central Oklahoma property for 2 weeks. That first cold front at the end of Oct. Sat 4 times, evenings only, saw 4 shooter bucks in bow range. Missed twice, nerves got to me, I am a new bowhunter and only been shooting a year. Shot an 8 yr old 9 point with a bunch of junk on his bases and a doe. So blessed and so excited. Anyways, not one time did I get blown at and they were dead down wind of me. Definitely a believer in those 2 products. Son shot a nice 8 pt buck, probably liver and we could not find the buck. Walked 3 miles nxt morning and no buck. Wish I could have afforded to get a dog guy out but just didn't have the funds for it. Great story, sorry about your buck and thanks for sharing it with us. All part of the Archery game I suppose.

Having success on public land is very rewarding. I’m not sure how the public land is there but in Texas public land deer hunting is extremely competitive.

My first time taking the boat to hunt. 40 mile lake. Im taking enough stuff to camp from the boat but weather and waves can definitely go bad. Bear, elk and deer tags. Hope to fill at least one. How about looking for natural salt licks? Nice video. Appreciate your time and info. Shes a weldcraft maverick..awesome little boat... I will say she goes 10" or less of water with the big motors up and handles couple foot waves manageably. I fish on a different 40 mile long lake. Rides back to the launch with your tail between your legs takes forever when theblake rears up and you have to go slow.. I have never been on the lake im going to hunt on..no contour data.. Take it slow and keep the big motor up when unknown..is the plan! Have a plan. Tell spmone. Have a set time you have to hear from me or send help. Never shoot if it pushes you into your call back time..my best advice..and say all your goodbyes and tie up your ends before you go..you never know..and i found that helped me push solo up the mtn in the dark where grizzlies and wolves roam... have a good light too..lol
